The 2019-20 Premier League season kicks off Aug. 9, and if you're reading this article, you're looking for a way to live stream English Premier League (EPL) matches without having cable. Fortunately for cord-cutters, Premier League live streaming is easy to find, and you'll have your choice of several streaming services.

NBC Sports Group owns EPL broadcast rights in the U.S, which means you need a streaming service with NBC Sports Network to get the majority of Premier League action. Key weekly matches will appear on over-the-air NBC—meaning you can watch with just a TV and antenna—while the bulk of games are on NBCSN. Occasionally, CNBC and USA Network also broadcast EPL games. Just note that to access every match, you'll need NBC Sports Gold. Overall, 240 games are on broadcast TV and 140 games are available online only.

Premier League live stream options

Every streaming service has its pros and cons — that's the nature of cord-cutting in 2019. When it comes to watching live EPL games, here are your primary options:

Cheapest for most Premier League matches: Sling Blue
Best for most Premier League matches and other live sports: fuboTV
Biggest streaming service with Premier League matches: Hulu + Live TV
Best for streaming all Premier League matches: NBC Sports Gold Premier League Pass

    Premier League channel in U.S.

Premier League matches are on NBC, NBCSN, CNBC and USA Network in the United States. To get an idea of what channel your club's game is on, take a look at the Matchday 1 calendar. You'll find five matches on NBCSN, one on NBC and one on CNBC. Three matches are not televised.

    Sling Blue

Sling Blue costs $25 per month and comes with more than 45 channels, including NBCSN and USA. You can also access NBC Bay Area through Sling's local service. This will get you into the 240 Premier League games broadcast in the U.S.

In addition to Sling Blue, the streaming service also offers Sling Orange, which has more than 30 channels for $25 per month. A few channels overlap between Sling Orange and Sling Blue, but you can combine the two with Sling Orange + Blue, an aptly named combination for $40 a month.

If you're just after Premier League games, Sling Blue is the cheapest option. As an added bonus, it comes with TNT, so you'll be able to catch Champions League action there throughout that season.

    fuboTV

If you're the unfortunate sports junkie who can't afford cable, fuboTV is your best option. For $54.99 a month, you get more than 105 channels, including:

    • NBC, NBCSN, CNBC and USA Network
    • FOX, FS1, FS2 and FOX Soccer Plus
    • TNT and TBS
    • beIN Sports
    • CBS and CBS Sports Network
    • NFL Network
    • NBA TV

That's just to name a few, but this combination of channels unlocks tons of soccer, including the Premier League, the German Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, Spain's La Liga and France's Ligue 1. You'll get all 240 EPL matches broadcast on TV in the U.S. with fuboTV.

    Hulu + Live TV

To get the Premier League, you'll need the Hulu + Live TV package, which costs $44.99 per month. In case you haven't heard from the litany of commercials on podcasts, Hulu has live sports. This package contains more than 60 channels, including:

    • NBC, NBCSN, CNBC and USA Network
    • FOX, FS1 and FS2 ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNews and ESPN U
    • TNT and TBS
    • CBS and CBS Sports Network

It's worth noting that this is the only streaming option in this list with ESPN, so if the Worldwide Leader is important to you, Hulu + Live TV is worth your money. By dint of having the NBC channels, you'll get all 240 live Premier League games broadcast in the U.S. The FOX channels and TNT unlock the German Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League games.

Of course, a Hulu + Live TV subscription also comes with Hulu Originals, like "The Handmaid's Tale" and "Harlots." Your only real struggle will be figuring out when to get up off the couch.

NBC Sports Gold Premier League Pass

NBC Sports's streaming service, NBC Sports Gold, has two different models. The Cadillac of Premier League action is NBC Sports Gold Premier League Pass, which costs $64.99 for the entire 38-matchday season. This is the most complete package for a Premier League junkie. It comes with all 240 live EPL matches broadcast in the U.S., plus the 140 online-only matches. It also allows you to replay games on demand and comes with further analysis and highlight material.

You can also shell out for the Oldsmobile of Premier League action, NBC Sports Gold Matchday Pass. For $39.99, you get the 140 online-only matches. You don't get the 240 live broadcast games from NBC, NBCSCN, CNBC or USA Network. You'll need a separate streaming service or a cable subscription for those. You also don't get games on demand or the other fun highlights and frills in this package.

The only reason to get this is if you already have cable or another streaming service and you're a fan of The Clarets or The Seagulls. Chances are, your club will end up online-only more frequently. But if you're nutty enough to pay for a package of Premier League games, you'll want the ability to watch games on demand. In that case, opt for the NBC Sports Gold Premier League Pass—it's only about $1.50 more per week. You can hardly buy a pack of gum for that much.

    Reddit Premier League streams

Reddit banned the r/SoccerStreams sub last year "for violations of Reddit’s Copyright Repeat Infringement Policy." It turns out, if you do illegal things online, you can get into trouble and have your community shut down. There are likely other illegal streams out there on the internet, but:

    • You shouldn't do illegal things
    • Hack-y websites open your computer up to viruses
    • There's no guarantee any of these streams work

The legal options listed in this article are a much safer bet, and there's a price point and service that'll sync up with your fanaticism and budget. Do the right thing—pay for things you love!
