Land's End, Lover's Lane, Twin Peaks – they're some of the most beloved hiking trails in the San Francisco Bay Area. But not everyone loves them.

We looked at one-star Yelp reviews for the most popular hiking trails in the region (all with four and a half stars or better overall) and found people turned off by crowds, lack of WiFi and a proliferation of poop.

Gems include one reviewer who deemed the Lands End Trail, which has five stars on Yelp, "WAY over-hyped!"

"It's always freezing, windy, and foggy and those blasted fog horns sound like a tuba playing in the bathtub," the Lands End-hater wrote.

After complaints about the cliffs along the trail, the review ends with a warning to potential visitors to "stay away altogether for your own safety."

There are also many one-star reviews to be found on the Yelp page for Muir Woods. Many of them came after the National Park Service instituted a reservation system for visiting the park in 2017. But there were other complaints.

"How can I possibly give one star to a redwood forest????" asked a reviewer who, nevertheless, gave one star to a redwood forest.

The person complained about the how hard it was to find parking and said they "left without stopping" at the park.

"I feel for the locals who no longer have access to their lovely woods without a Disneyland experience," lamented the reviewer.
